This appears to be the equipment damaged in a crash on Friday 9 May in Nice, France. The multi-rotor copter crashed on a beach then burst into flames, according to beachgoers interviewed by Nice Matin, a regional newspaper. Luckily the beach was sparsely populated at the time and no-one was hurt.
Not only was the equipment badly damaged, the incident is being investigated by the French air transport police. And if that wasn’t enough, the Directorate General for Civil Aviation is also looking into the affair.
It seems to have raised eyebrows that the operators claim they were flying the rig for leisure but the components are some of the highest spec equipment available to buy. If they are classified as professionals they would be expected to have registration as an authorized operator.
